Callum Shinkwin wins hugely successful Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open

The feedback from the players and from people watching around the world has been great and it's going to be huge for Aphrodite Hills and Cyprus in general.

Callum Shinkwin won the inaugural ISM-promoted Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open on the first hole of a play-off with Kalle Samooja.

The tournament, the first ever to be held in Cyprus, had a potential tv reach of 735 million across 47 countries and has earned huge praise from the 105-man field. 

It will be followed by the innovative Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Shootout next week. 

ISM Chief Executive Officer Chubby Chandler said: "We're so proud and delighted with the way the week has gone.

"The feedback from the players and from people watching around the world has been great and it's going to be huge for Aphrodite Hills and Cyprus in general."

Sami Valimaki ended the week in a share of sixth place, Mitch Waite was 34th, Clement Sordet was 41st and David Horsey was 58th.
