It's always a proud day to be named in any England squad
Stuart Broad and Graham Onions have been named in the 13-man England squad for Thursday's first Test against West Indies at Lord’s.
Broad returns after being ruled out of the second Test against Sri Lanka through injury.
"It's always a proud day to be named in any England squad," Broad said. "I'm buzzing for this week."
Onions is the only other member of the squad who did not play a Test last winter and, alongside Broad, is one of five seamers picked.
"This is an important period for us following a challenging winter where we learnt some valuable lessons and we are preparing for a highly competitive series against a West Indies side full of quality players," said national selector Geoff Miller.
"We have selected a very strong 13-man squad which allows us to consider a number of options before making a decision about Thursday’s side.
"We have included five seam bowlers who have all demonstrated that they are capable of winning Test matches for England."
Elsewhere, Yorkshire batsman Joe Root hit an unbeaten 115 as England Lions eased to a ten-wicket victory against West Indies on the final day in Northampton.
