Article posted: 18 May 2012
Stuart Broad completed career-best figures of 7-72 as England took control of the first Test against West Indies at Lord’s.
Broad struck with the first ball of the day to dismiss Shannon Gabriel, leaving the tourists all out for 243.
The wicket made Broad only the fourth England bowler to take a seven-for at the home of cricket, joining the likes of Trevor Bailey, Sir Ian Botham and Dominic Cork.
England enjoyed a fine day's batting and ended the day 259/3, 16 runs in front with seven wickets remaining.
