Chubby Chandler: Bourdy and Fox Flying Before Olympics

No more majors now until next year's Masters, but plenty of big events coming before the end of the year, not least the Ryder Cup.

Well done Gregory Bourdy and Ryan Fox for achievements they will fondly remember for the rest of their lives.

Greg was a late invitee to the US PGA and more than justified his selection as he finished in the top 20 and highest of our seven weekend qualifiers at the year's final major.

Meanwhile Ryan posted a magnificent final round 62 to win the Tayto Northern Ireland Open in partnership with Ulster Bank.   He is now second in the Road to Oman rankings, but more importantly on the road to Rio with Team New Zealand - one of nine players we'll have there.

Back at Baltusrol, Louis Oosthuizen came in 22nd while Joost Luiten and Matt Fitzpatrick both finished in the top 50.

No more majors now until next year's Masters, but plenty of big events coming before the end of the year, not least the Ryder Cup.

We have Matt Fitzpatrick and Lee Westwood in the running for Hazeltine while Augusta winner Danny Willett is already guaranteed a place.

Hopefully we'll have at least a quarter of the team plus Captain Darren Clarke.

Popped in to see the Captain in Abaco this week where he's been pouring over statistics and possible permutations as well as the multitude of other things connected to the role.

I have no doubt that no other travelling team taking on the Americans will have been bettered prepared for the task ahead.
