Mitch ended a stunning amateur career with the decision to turn professional in November 2018 and made his professional debut at the South African Open hosted by the City of Johannesburg.

His professional debut brought to an end an outstanding year for the Bristol-born prospect, which started with an April victory in the Hampshire Hog/Salver, previously won by recent World Number One, Olympic and Major champion Justin Rose.

Mitch finished runner-up in the illustrious Lytham Trophy and reached the semi finals of the British Amateur, losing out to eventual champion Jovan Rebula.

In June, he was runner-up in the European Amateur Championship at the Royal Hague in Holland and was then called into the England Team to compete in the European Mens’ Team Championships in Berlin, Germany, where England lost out in the final to Finland.

In late July, following this tremendous performance, Mitch was selected to represent GB&I against Europe in the St. Andrews Trophy.

Mitch was chosen to play for England in the team of three players to compete for the Eisenhower Trophy in Ireland and also represented his country in the Home Internationals, which England won with Mitch winning five out of his six matches.

To round off a magnificent 2018 amateur season, he won the England Order of Merit.

After finding his feet on the professional scene in 2019, he had a strong start on the MENA Tour in 2020 and also finished in a share of seventh place at the RAM Cape Town Open in February.
