Gavin turned professional and joined ISM the day after helping Great Britain and Ireland to Walker Cup victory at Royal Lytham & St Annes in September 2015.

He made his debut in the paid ranks at the Open d'Italia in Milan in 2015 and went on to secure his European Tour card through Qualifying School in 2017.

His appearance at Lytham was his second in the Walker Cup, having featured in the defeat to the United States in 2013.

Gavin was the youngest Irish Amateur champion when he won as a 17-year-old in 2012. As well as winning Peter McEvoy Trophy and the Carrick Neil Scottish Open Championship, he became the Irish Amateur champion for the second time in 2015.

He secured a first professional title with victory at the Lookers Championship, shooting three consecutive rounds of 68 at Close House in April 2017.

He produced a strong set of results on the Challenge Tour, including second place at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Match Play 9, a share of fourth at the Ras Al Khaimah 2017 Golf Challenge and sixth at the Hainan Open.

Gavin made a huge impression in front of his home fans with a share of 14th place at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation that included a final round of 64 at Portstewart.

Having finished 19th on the Road to Oman, Gavin picked up his European Tour card by finishing with a share of 25th place.

Representing Ireland with Paul Dunne, Gavin won the second Golf Sixes at Centurion Club in May 2018 and secured his European Tour card for 2019 through Qualifying School.

Gavin finished 2019 strongly, with a share of fifth place at the Open de France and will play a mix of European Tour and Challenge Tour in 2020.
